Hello and welcome!
Note: I’m currently on bereavement leave and not accepting new clients until 2025. Please fill out my contact form to be added to my waitlist.
I’m Emily (she/her). I’m a Registered Psychotherapist offering in-person and virtual psychotherapy for individual youth and adults. I’m committed to a relational approach to therapy and I incorporate experiential, phenomenological, and arts-based methods into my sessions. I provide clients with a safe, non-judgmental space for self-exploration and reflection. I offer interventions that integrate talk therapy and the use of visual arts, music, voice, drama, dance/movement, and creative writing to help expand a client’s range of play and create space for safety, connection, and personal exploration. I work from a feminist, intersubjective, relational perspective, with an approach that is person-centered, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming, and I’m sex/kink/poly/body/sex work positive.
I’m a graduate of the MEd program in Counselling Psychology at OISE, University of Toronto and I’ve completed a diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy at the Create Institute. I’ve worked in private practice for over a year under the clinical supervision of Terri Roberton, RP. During my 5 years of clinical training, I gained practicum experience at the University of Toronto Mississauga Career Centre, the Create Clinic, North York Women’s Shelter, The Gatehouse, Full Circle Art Therapy Centre, L’Arche Toronto, Purple Carrots Drama Studio, and Rhythmic by Nature. I’ve partnered with clients on the following issues: confidence, self-esteem and self-worth, gender, sexuality, relationships, careers, grief, trauma, childhood sexual abuse, sexual and domestic violence, neurodivergence, disability, depression, and anxiety.
I’m a white, queer, disabled settler and I practice in Toronto, part of Treaty 13, and the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. I’m grateful to live, make art, and work on this land.
